Karen has been with the practice since 2004. She offers a full general practice service. She has a special interest in paediatrics and palliative care. Karen is also involved in the teaching of medical students.

Kathleen has been with the practice since July 2014. She offers a full general practice service. She has specialist interests in palliative care and audit.

Our Healthcare Assistants work under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner
They are fully trained in a range of healthcare procedures including taking blood samples, checking blood pressure and testing urine. Nicola is also trained to do spirometry (lung function tests) as part of our respiratory care programme . They also assist the GPs during some procedures and will act as a chaperone if required.
Nicola and Fern are also part of our Reception & Administration team.
Liz joined the practice team in 2014 and is responsible for the management of the practice.

The community midwifery team provide a midwifery service every Wednesday. Depending on the availability of midwives you may not see the same person.
The district nurses are part of the nursing team at the practice. They are responsible for delivering quality nursing and social care with the aim to support those patients who are housebound or medically unfit to attend the surgery. They also provide treatment room sessions during surgery hours. They also offer services of chronic disease management and palliative care within the home setting.
District nurse treatment room sessions are held in the surgery every Monday, Wednesday and Friday 09:00 – 10:00 by appointment for a range of services that include:
The nurses can be contacted on 0191 2980944 (direct line) between 08:30 – 17:00. If they are out on the district a message can be left on their answer phone which will be responded to on their return to the office.

The health visitors work with patients of all ages but particularly families with pre-school children. They visit clients in their own homes by appointment, at clinics and within the community settings. They are supported by the nursery nurse.
